To whom or what do you attribute honor? Using the illustration of a builder and a house, the first part of Hebrews 3 reminds us that Jesus is ultimately worthy of honor: “just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself.”

The principle from Hebrews 3:3 is that people have far greater value than buildings, just as Jesus has greater honor than Moses because He is the Son of God. I shared this encouragement with the team in Nigeria as we came together to design a children’s home. God gave us unity and joy as we worked with this perspective!

It was a tremendous blessing to work together last month. The team, composed of Nigerians and Americans served Mary International Foundation by preparing a master plan and children’s home design for their future campus in Edo State.

We pray that Jesus is glorified throughout the planning and realization of this project. May this project point to our hope in Him, honoring each person that is a part of it!

Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house. For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.

Hebrews 3:1-6

• Pray that God will be glorified by the team’s time together and that we would work in unity.
• Pray for visa applications and processing for team members.
• Pray for good communication and coordination with EMI Canada to complete the design work.
